Your information at Vesdoc.
Updated 29 October 2026.
The launch list
We use your email address to let you know when the Vesdoc boat archive launches. Your name is optional. Your selected boating interest helps us understand who is joining. Joining does not create an account or sign you up for unrelated marketing.
What we store
Your email, optional name, interest, chosen notification language, registration time and the version of the consent you accepted. We use a keyed hash of your network address in short-lived rate-limit records to help prevent automated abuse. We do not store your raw network address in the waitlist database. Hosting providers may process technical request logs.
Where it goes
The service is configured for Vercel and PostgreSQL on Supabase. Contact details are not included in the website’s Git repository. There is no advertising tracker on this page. Documents, tools and resource links are open without registration.
Language preference
On your first visit, the country associated with your IP address sets the initial language: Norwegian for Norway, English elsewhere. Choosing a language at the top saves your choice in the vesdoc_language cookie for up to one year in this browser. The cookie contains only nb or en. The launch notification uses the language you select in the registration form.
Your choice
You can withdraw your consent and ask us to remove your registration. We plan to remove launch-list details within 90 days after the launch notification unless you separately choose to become a member.
Feedback and visit overview
When you submit feedback, we store the text, selected language, time and any name and email you provide, with your consent. Only the administrator can read submissions. Feedback is kept while it is reviewed and followed up, for no more than 12 months without a new agreement. You can withdraw consent and request deletion through the contact below.
When visit measurement is enabled, we count page views by day, country and page language. Counts do not represent unique people. The hosting service derives the country from the IP address; the IP address itself is not stored in the visit overview. We use no visitor cookie or cross-site tracking. A short-lived, daily changing hash is used only to limit abuse.
Admin sign-in uses a necessary HttpOnly cookie lasting up to one hour. It is removed on logout. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth and are not included in the waitlist or feedback records.
Protection against automated submissions
We use Vercel BotID Basic for the waitlist, feedback and admin sign-in. Your browser performs an invisible security check, and Vercel processes technical information about the browser and request to verify the submission. This check is used to limit abuse. Its result is not stored as part of your feedback or waitlist entry.
